It is good to share. Well, that’s what I was told as a child and I believe that’s a great lesson to learn at an early age. I would like to bring to your much respected attention, the new edition of the New African Woman. It is a great magazine and one I have enjoyed contributing to while secretly plotting…hmmmnnn, I won’t say before my editor, Regina Jere-Malanda, calls me up to give me a licking:-)
She knows I love her though:-)
On that note, this edition is packed with some fine interviews from the music world with the likes of Shingai from Noisettes, Tinu Naija, Beverly Knight. Hot topics like child abuse in Africa and the debate which surronds postponing motherhood due to the rise of the modern day career woman. Hello!!! Ladies, let’s read this article, it is very interesting and written by the lovely Shola Okobute. And of course, there is a feature with the lovely Lebogang Mashile written by yours truly and some great book interviews and reviews with Sarah Ladipo Manyika, Nadifa Mohamed, Laila Lalami and Irene Sabatini. Regina is very big on people reading, maybe that’s why I love her but pls, don’t tell her that.
Before I go on and on, Regina says it best when she defined what the New African Woman is about – a magazine for the discerning woman and the vision is to inspire rather than impose, to expertly advise rather than dictate, to tastefully portray our diverse black beauty and not than cheapen it!!
