In my opinion, Al Jazeera has had a fantastic coverage of the turmoil in Egypt but their objectivity is questionable and sometimes, the views of commentators and questions asked by the news presenters has been acidic. Their bias in stating America’s hypocrisy has been blatant and sometimes, I wondered if this historic event was about Egypt or the US. Nevertheless, their continuous coverage has been good and their correspondents on the ground, excellent. I found the correspondents to be a little more objective than the news presents, fronting the news programmes. While this is my personal view, it also applies to the BBC, CNN and other media outlets. So, let’s call a spade a spade, every news media has an own agenda to fulfill and so, as a consumer, if you want a global perspective, take the time to flick through the channels before you make up your mind.
